As NEMAC's Principle Designer, Caroline is responsible for the visual identity of NEMAC and the presentation of all of NEMAC’s products, including both helping partners work toward a visual solution as well as presenting products optimized for communication to the public. She directs strategic implementation of branding and outreach materials in order to best represent both the interests of the group and our funders. She creates assets that are essential in web presentation, print media, videography, and live facilitation events. In this capacity, she has worked on projects such as the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, the Appalachian LCC's Guide to Ecosystem Services, and the Southern Appalachian Vitality Index. Her expertise in visual communication combined with her experience in interfacing with scientific data allows her to support partners in communities in making informed decisions.

Another major aspect of Caroline's work is NEMAC's undergraduate research student internship program. NEMAC employs anywhere from 5-15 interns each semester, all of whom work closely with staff to develop our web tools, create GIS maps, and gain valuable experience and network in the professional field. Caroline manages the intern hiring process and acts as liaison between students and staff members.

Caroline is a graduate of UNC Asheville with a B.A. in Multimedia Arts and Sciences, concentration in interactive design, and a minor in Literature. She holds a graduate certificate in Climate Change and Society through UNC Asheville's Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences program.
